MARCH FOR SCIENCE LAS VEGAS ANNOUNCES THE ARTS DISTRICT: ART SQUARE
PARKING LOT, AS ITS EVENT LOCATION ON APRIL 22, 2017
April 10, 2017 (Las Vegas, NV) - March for Science Las Vegas today announced The Arts
District: Art Square Parking Lot as the event location to be held on April 22, 2017 from 10:00am
to 12:00pm. This event will be a gathering of local citizens, political leaders, and distinguished
scientists from academia and industry representing the local scientific community.
There will be a diverse group of scientists and science enthusiasts speaking during the event
with a special appearance by Oakland-based science rock band The Phenomenauts. Winners
of an art contest for K-3 and an essay contest for middle school will be announced and several
artists will donate sales of their science-inspired work to the March for Science Las Vegas.
The March for Science is a celebration of our passion for science and a call to support and
safeguard the scientific community. We are scientists and science enthusiasts. We come from
all races, all religions, all gender identities, all sexual orientations, all abilities, all socioeconomic
backgrounds, all political perspectives, and all nationalities. We all recognize that science is
everywhere and affects everyone.
